Location, Props and costume
Location -
I decided to do my photoshoot outside my house, in a natural environment. This was because i wanted a plain and simple background so it wouldn't defer from the model. I also shot my images at night and used the outside light as a spotlight. This created emphasis of the model's features and helps emphasize the punk culture.
Props and Costume -
The props I have used include cigarettes which help emphasize the rebellious nature of punk culture, punk clothing such as a long leather coat, a holey band t-shirt, ripped jeans. I have chosen these props to help emphasize the fashion statements of the 70s and 80s but also to show that punk fashion is still popular now. This links in with the genre of my products as i want to represent and combine 70s punk with present punk cultures.

College Magazine Questionnaire
What Gender are you?
For the
Gender question, we only chose to ask if they were male or female instead of
asking if they were transgender. We chose this because transgender are very
rare. The results of the question were 50/50 as we asked the same amount of
girls as we did boys.
Would you read the college magazine
if there was one?
For this
question there were a high percentage of people that said no. The results were
73% no and 27% yes. It is shown that the majority of the students would not be
interested in reading the college magazine.
How often would you like the magazine
to be released?
For this
question there was a high percentage of people that said they would want the
magazine released monthly. The results were 20% would want the magazine weekly
and 80% said they would want it monthly.
If monthly, how much would be willing
to pay?
For this
question we gave three answers to be chosen. They were £1.50, £2.00 and £2.50.
60% said they would pay £1.50, 27% said they would pay £2.00 and 13% said they
would pay £2.50. It is shown that the majority of people would pay the smallest
sum because it’s the cheapest sum.
If weekly, how much would you be
willing to pay?
Like the
monthly question, we gave three possible answers for students to choose from.
They were 50p, £1.00 and £1.50. 67% said 50p, 27% said £1.00 and 6% said £1.50.
Like the monthly question, the majority said they would be willing to play the
cheapest amount for a weekly magazine.
Would you be interested in
contributing?
The majority
of magazines has a section that pupils or students can contribute to. This is
so the audience can read things that their friends have written. 80% of people
said they would not be willing in contributing. 20% of the people asked said
they would.
What content would you be interested
in seeing in the magazine?
For this
question we decided to have multiple choices. We had seven different choices.
They were: music and music related material, what’s on in the area, sports,
celeb gossip, university information, film releases and jobs/apprentices. There
were three answers that had the same results. 17% of people asked said they
would want what’s on in the area, university info and Jobs/apprenticeships. The
lowest two results were the same at 11%. They were celeb gossip and sports.
Would freebies/offers/discounts
encourage you to buy the college magazine?
For this
question the majority of people asked said that discounts, offers and freebies
would encourage them to buy a college magazine. 93% of people we asked said
that offers, freebies and discounts would encourage them to buy the magazine.
Only 7% said that they wouldn't.
Would an online version encourage you
to read the college magazine?
Online
magazine nowadays are very popular. Our statistics show that 80% would like for
an online version whereas 20% said they wouldn't. this is surprising because a
large amount said that they wouldn't read an online version.
